Membership
Membership is a commitment to organizing for disability justice in Detroit. We’re building political power through relationships, campaigns, and community. If you’re ready to show up, volunteer, and build with us — welcome home!
Together, we're amassing the political power to transform Detroit into the most accessible city. This is how we win.
Member Perks
In return, we offer opportunities you can't get anywhere else:
leadership development
political education
campaign experience
the infrastructure to organize effectively
— all in an accessible environment!
You'll build a community with disabled people and allies who get it. We create space for joy, culture, and connection while we organize.
Member Duties
Members commit time and energy to disability justice organizing. This means
Attending member meetings (held twice annually)
Volunteering on campaigns and actions
Building relationships and practicing relational organizing to grow our base
Responding to calls to actions when we need people to show up
We’re looking for people ready to do the work, not just support from the sidelines
Can’t commit time to organizing right now? Consider becoming a donor instead to support our work financially.
Member Dues
$10 a month
$120 annually
Dues honor your duty to our collective! Membership Dues help fund Member events, swag, access accommodations, outings, and leadership opportunities. Your dues are an investment in the quality of your Membership experience throughout the year. Reach out to NaJee, our Community Care Organizer at NaJaRee@DetroitDisabilityPower.org if you’d like to become a Member, but dues are a barrier – we’re happy to help.
