DDP's policy recommendations to the city/county/state in this issue area:

Increase funding for our public schools.

Ensure that all schools provide first-rate special education services for all students with Individualized Education Plans (IEP'S) & Section 504 (of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973) plans.

Ensure that all schools establish clear and culturally competent communication with families, in native languages, inclusive of education on the rights of students with disabilities.

Ensure that school administrations foster an understanding of diverse learning styles, incorporating patience, flexibility and disability inclusion to meet the needs of students with disabilities and our families.

Ensure that administrations implement curricula that is anti-ableist, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and inclusive of people with disabilities, and other marginalized communities', contributions to society.
