This is for our members. None of what Detroit Disability Power has accomplished over the last 4 years would have been possible without you and our supporters. As we continue the work of making the world an accessible place for everyone, we celebrate our members, our community, and four years of Detroit Disability Power!
We are excited to grow, be present, and be loud in the city of Detroit and beyond. This year, Detroit Disability Power has events and other opportunities to learn more about our programs, policy platforms, and how to become a member if you aren't one already.
Mobilize into action with us by becoming an official member today!
Become a part of the 250 (and growing) disability justice activists that fight for accessible systems across our city. We are starting off the month of September with exactly 250 members on our roster, and with your help, we push for a mighty 350 members! A larger member base means more effective actions, bigger networks, and more lasting improvements to the city we all know and love. Over the last year, our current members have…
Directly influenced vaccine rollout policies that prioritized people with disabilities
Presented at reproductive justice rallies on the intersections of disability, gender, and bodily autonomy
Organized to drastically raise the budget of the City of Detroit’s Office of Disability Affairs and won!
Outreached to thousands of Detroiters in voter engagement efforts
Launched creative, accessible creative outlets for other members like the DDP Book Club, You Can’t Put Us Down!
Expanded DDP’s network by building relationships across new issues and other coalitions on issues ranging from paid family leave and minimum wage, to employment and K-12 education
And so much more!
