Community Needs Survey Data 2021

Detroit Disability Power created the online 2021 Community Needs Survey (CNS) in order to learn more about the needs of people with disabilities and caregivers in the Detroit area. This effort is part of our greater mission to leverage and build the organizing and political power of the disability community in Metro Detroit. Our goal is to use this information to better center our work around the expressed needs of the community.

We collected information from 73 adult participants who:

  • have a disability and/or are a caregiver to someone with a disability

  • are residents of Wayne, Oakland, or Macomb counties.

Key needs, barriers, and other feedback are listed below. There is also a list of ways in which we will integrate the survey information into our current and upcoming work.
